Bonding is a vital process when working with polycarbonate and acrylic sheets, enabling the creation of composite structures for diverse applications. Polycarbonate bonding, in particular, calls for a clean, smooth joint and specific chemicals given the unique properties of this material.

Polycarbonate is an industrial thermoplastic known for its impressive durability, significant transparency to visible light, and the ability to undergo large deformations without cracking or breaking. Unlike some thermoplastics, it bonds easily, whether to itself or to other materials, provided the correct adhesive is used.

The choice of adhesive for polycarbonate largely depends on the application. Most times, the adhesive or sealant must be clear to maintain the optical clarity inherent to polycarbonate. Acrylic bonding is a slightly different process but equally important for creating sturdy, transparent structures.
